Ankita Kalra

Ankita Kalra is an AI Implementation Specialist at the University of Nebraska’s AI Institute, where she supports university-wide AI adoption through applied pilots, tool evaluation, AI enablement resources, and stakeholder-focused implementation strategy. Her work includes developing the AI Resource Navigator, supporting multilingual LLM workflows, and helping faculty, staff, and campus partners identify practical pathways for using AI responsibly and effectively.

Ankita brings more than 10 years of experience across artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, robotics, autonomous systems, and industrial machine vision. She has worked across academic and industry settings, including HERE Technologies, Panasonic Automotive, Koh Young America, Blue River Technology/John Deere, Carnegie Mellon University, and Wipro’s AI research division. Her technical expertise spans LLM applications, retrieval-augmented generation, cloud ML deployment, MLOps, computer vision, SLAM, robotics, and edge AI systems.

She earned her PhD in Applied AI, Robotics, and Biological Systems Engineering from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, an MS in Computer Vision from Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute, and a BTech in Electronics Engineering from IIT-BHU. Her broader mission is to translate advanced AI into practical, trustworthy, and accessible systems that create measurable impact for universities, industry, and communities.
