Author Tlotlo Tsamaase will visit "Artificial Intelligence, the Human, Society" (ENGL 492/892), a University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) split undergraduate-graduate course, taught by Professor Adrian Wisnicki (AI Institute/English Department). Tsamaase is a graduate student in UNL's English Department and author of Womb City (Erewhon, 2024), a critically-acclaimed Afrofuturist/sci-fi/horror/cyberpunk novel that focuses on topics like AI, surveillance, and consciousness transfer. Womb City won the 2025 Nommo Award for "Best Novel" and was also an Amazon Editor’s Pick for “Best Science Fiction & Fantasy Book of the Month” as well as a finalist for the 2025 Locus Award for "Best First Novel.” The novel has been praised by a variety of publications including The New York Times, Publishers Weekly, Los Angeles Review of Books, and New Scientist.
